Continuing Care

Structured Support

Recovery does not end when treatment concludes. For many, aftercare becomes the structure that sustains long-term stability, offering continued accountability, connection, and professional guidance. At Insight Recovery Centers, aftercare is a continuation of care designed to reinforce the gains made in treatment and protect against relapse.

Sustaining Progress in Recovery

Too often, “aftercare” is associated only with peer groups or sober housing. While these can be valuable, true aftercare is broader. It is a deliberate framework that helps clients maintain recovery, restore relationships, and remain connected to their goals.

At Insight, continuing care combines structured therapy, peer support, and alumni engagement with individualized planning. Clients transition into this phase once they have demonstrated stability in mental health, employment, and family life, ensuring that the Continuing Care program builds on a solid foundation.

Insight’s Continuing Care Program

At our Ashburn center, clients who complete the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) transition into a structured aftercare track called Continuing Care. Our aftercare program includes:

  • Weekly group counseling  facilitated by experienced clinicians
  • Ongoing individual sessions as needed
  • Family involvement when appropriate
  • Drug and alcohol screening for accountability
  • Case management and relapse prevention planning

Our Continuing Care groups are held weekly on Mondays or Tuesdays from 5:30–7:30 PM for clients with at least 30 days of abstinence and demonstrated stability. It serves as a step-down from a higher level of care and a bridge to long-term recovery.
